Carey McCrady, CFP®

Financial Advisor

Carey McCrady, CFP®, joined Cypress Wealth Services in May 2023 as a Financial Advisor. Carey takes an educational approach to helping clients. He believes it's important to ensure that clients understand every aspect of their financial plan, whether it's about their portfolio, the value of a Roth conversion, or other tax planning strategies that can positively impact the plan's success. Carey works with high-net-worth clients and business owners to provide comprehensive financial planning. He also specializes in working with retirement plan sponsors to help manage the fiduciary responsibility of offering a 401(K). Carey started in the financial services industry in 2006 and spent most of his career working for Vanguard before transitioning to the independent advisor space. At Vanguard, he primarily worked on the retirement plan side of their business, advising high-net-worth and executive plan participants. Carey grew up in Utah and has lived in Arizona for 20+ years with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys golfing, skiing, going to Disneyland, firing up the grill, and cooking for family and friends.

What are 3 words people use to describe you?

Loyal, Insightful, Humble

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Stop swimming upstream. Hearing that made me reflect on the way I approach things in my life. Do what’s right and surround yourself with good people who share the same values.

Getting an education opens up more opportunities for you. I waited to do this until after my wife, and I had started a family. If I could do this over, I would flip the order. Going to school while raising children is really difficult.

What I enjoy most about working in wealth management is the opportunity to build relationships with clients and help them achieve their financial goals. The work is challenging and incredibly rewarding.
